Non-Standard Customization Process

Unlike standardized mass-produced outdoor metal furniture, including regular storage sheds, patio cabinets, and general garden products, non-standard customized projects at Motton Technology are fully tailored to clients’ unique on-site environments, functional requirements, dimensional constraints, brand styling, and regional application standards. Custom outdoor metal facilities cover personalized outdoor BBQ kitchen systems, customized garden storage structures, special-size parcel lockers, shaped metal planter systems, and site-specific outdoor metal engineering components. This full-cycle tailored service relies on in-depth technical docking, engineering-level drawing optimization, dedicated production scheduling, and precise customized manufacturing, which fundamentally differentiates it from standardized procurement in terms of workflow, technical investment, project cycle, and cost structure. The complete non-standard customization workflow is systematically standardized and strictly implemented by our technical and production teams as follows.

The entire customization project starts withpreliminary demand confirmation and technical docking, the most critical foundational stage that determines the accuracy, rationality, and feasibility of the entire project. Most non-standard orders originate from clients’ personalized scenarios: special installation space limitations, matching with overall outdoor landscape styles, functional upgrades for commercial scenarios, regional climate adaptation requirements, or brand exclusive customization demands. In this stage, our professional engineering and sales team conduct one-on-one in-depth communication with global clients to collect comprehensive technical indicators, including customized overall dimensions, structural load-bearing requirements, material thickness standards, surface anti-rust and weather resistance grades, opening and assembly methods, accessory configuration standards, logo and color customization requirements, as well as local installation environment parameters such as coastal high salt spray, high temperature exposure, or snowy freezing climate conditions. We fully record all client technical indicators and personalized demands, sort out professional technical requirement documents, and complete the first round of solution communication and verification to eliminate ambiguous demands and hidden technical risks in advance.

Based on the confirmed demand framework, our engineering team launchesin-depth engineering design and scheme optimization, the core technical link of non-standard customization. Different from the fixed structural parameters of standard products, non-standard metal products require secondary structural reasoning and mechanical verification by engineers. Combined with outdoor long-term wind resistance, pressure resistance, anti-deformation, and anti-corrosion usage characteristics, our team optimizes the product frame structure, reinforcing rib layout, waterproof and drainage structure, assembly foolproof structure, and door and window switching structure. Meanwhile, we fully consider international universal manufacturing tolerances, container loading dimensional limits, and overseas installation convenience to complete DFM (Design for Manufacturability) manufacturability optimization. After multiple rounds of internal engineering reviews and client feedback revisions, we finally confirm the official 2D engineering construction drawings and 3D effect simulation drawings. This repeated technical demonstration and drawing iteration ensures that the customized products are not only consistent with the client’s personalized aesthetic and functional expectations but also meet industrial production standards and outdoor long-term service life requirements.

After the client formally confirms the engineering design scheme and signs off the technical drawings, we enter the production drawing decomposition and process transformation stage. This is a unique technical link for non-standard projects and a key reason for the high technical threshold of customized production. Standard products have mature fixed production drawings, process routes, and cutting parameters, which can be directly put into batch production. However, each non-standard customized project requires our engineers to independently decompose the overall engineering drawings into detailed production processing drawings, including single-piece sheet metal unfolding drawings, cutting dimension drawings, bending process drawings, welding positioning drawings, surface treatment process drawings, and accessory matching parameter tables. Each component’s processing tolerance, process sequence, and tooling positioning standards need independent setting and calibration. The whole process requires manual intervention and precise verification by professional and technical personnel, without mature template support, consuming a large amount of engineering time and technical manpower. Only after completing the full set of production drawing review, process verification, and parameter confirmation can the production department be authorized for formal processing.

Subsequently, the project enters the special customized production scheduling and full-process manufacturing stage. Different from standard products that adopt assembly line batch circulation production, non-standard customized products belong to personalized single-batch production. Our production management team independently creates exclusive production orders for each customized project, formulates targeted production scheduling plans, and reasonably arranges the production sequence of sheet metal cutting, precision bending, seamless welding, structural reinforcement, deburring and polishing, high-standard electrostatic powder coating, and finished product assembly. Due to the inconsistent structural specifications and processing techniques of customized products, production equipment needs frequent parameter adjustment, tooling replacement, and process debugging, and workers need to switch operation processes according to personalized drawing requirements, unable to form streamlined efficient cycle production. In addition, for special structural customized products, we need to complete independent mold opening, tooling customization, and process testing in advance, which further increases the pre-production preparation cycle and production difficulty. During the production process, our quality inspection team conducts multi-process special inspection for customized dimensions, structural accuracy, and surface technology to ensure that each personalized detail fully meets the drawing standards.

Finally, we complete customized packaging, exclusive inspection, and accurate global delivery. For non-standard products with special shapes and sizes, we cannot adopt unified standardized packaging schemes. Our team designs personalized packaging schemes according to product structural characteristics, matching customized foam protection, reinforced cartons, and anti-collision structural accessories to avoid extrusion deformation and surface damage during long-distance international transportation. At the same time, we provide exclusive customized packing lists, installation drawing manuals, and after-sales technical documents for each project, and complete final quality inspection and container loading confirmation before delivery to ensure zero defect delivery of customized products.

It is precisely based on the above full-cycle personalized technical operation system that Motton’s non-standard customization services form obvious differences in cycle and cost compared with standard products, and also form our core professional advantages in high-end customized outdoor metal engineering solutions. In terms of project cycle, non-standard projects require multi-round demand docking, drawing design, engineering optimization, production decomposition, and process debugging. A large amount of pre-production technical preparation work cannot be omitted and compressed like standard products, resulting in a longer overall project cycle and lower single-line production efficiency. In terms of comprehensive cost, non-standard customization involves high upfront investment costs including independent engineering design manpower consumption, drawing iteration and technical verification costs, production tooling and parameter debugging costs, single-batch production efficiency loss costs, and personalized packaging and quality inspection costs. Therefore, customized products are naturally higher in comprehensive cost than mass-produced standard products.

Nevertheless, Motton Technology adheres to rigorous engineering standards and stable customized quality output. We take the initiative to bear the high upfront technical investment costs, fully meet clients’ personalized outdoor scene construction and brand upgrading needs, and provide global customers with one-stop customized solutions from demand consultation, engineering design, process development, precision production to cross-border delivery and after-sales technical support. While ensuring the uniqueness, applicability, and durability of each customized product, we help clients realize differentiated market competition and high-value scene upgrading, which is the core value of Motton’s non-standard customized service.
